2026 Camp Speaker

Benji Babu

Benji Babu likes to describe himself as a 1 Corinthians 15:10 person – ‘But by the grace of God I am what I am’. His plan for life is simple: be a faithful husband to his wife, a loving father to his kids, and above all, a humble servant of his Lord.

Blessed to be born to Christian parents in India, faith and church was always an integral part of his life. Choosing a career in aviation after college, he spent over 16 years in the industry, the majority of it based in Dubai, UAE.

Benji married his beloved wife Shebin in 2010 and together they were blessed with two wonderful children in Olivia and Aiden.

In 2017, after much prayer and consideration, they made the life-changing decision to move halfway across the world to settle in New Zealand with their young family. After a brief initial stint up north, they moved to Christchurch in the summer of 2019, and this is now home. Christchurch also marked a new chapter in Benji's career as he transitioned to the dairy industry where he now works with Goodman Fielder as part of their operations team.

As a humble student of the Scriptures, Benji's heart is to stand true to the Lord and stay committed to His Word. He serves as part of the teaching team at Bryndwr Chapel in Christchurch where he is in fellowship with his family. When called upon, he also supports the teaching ministry at other churches in and around Christchurch. Over the years, he has had the privilege to speak at various camps and conferences in New Zealand and abroad. Benji and Shebin are also part of a lovely home group ministry in the North Canterbury region.

Looking back, it has always been a story of grace at work in Benji's life. And his prayer is that it will be no different in the journey ahead.

Soli Deo Gloria.
